At Edac we recognise that Design Engineers will often face the problem of
requiring an interconnect product that is not available ‘off of the shelf’.
Sometimes the requirement is for a minor variation to a standard connector to
suit the specific needs of the application. At other times it is necessary to
design a new connector ‘from scratch’ starting with a blank sheet of paper or a
set of design parameters or perhaps a simple concept sketch.
On occasions
a customer simply requires an alternative source for an existing connector.
Edac has a strong technical capability in this custom field. Our Canadian-based
Design Engineering team have many years of experience in connector, tooling and
materials technology and the confidence of producing successful solutions to
customer problems stretching back for decades.
Previous customisation projects cover many applications in a range of industries
including; Alternative Energy, Automotive, Medical, Telecoms, Data Transfer and
Storage, Security, Graphics and Industrial Controls.
A key facet to Edac’s proposition is a realistic approach to MOQ levels for
customised products. Unlike most competitors that manufacture in the Far-East,
Edac recognises that not all customers are able to order hundreds of thousands
or even millions of parts at a time. Edac controls the design, tooling, sampling
and production processes from start to finish and can utilise the collective
volumes produced by the Group customers worldwide. If a project is commercially
viable it will get produced! The flat management structure within the Edac Group
business means that decisions get made fast.
